Second Life
For you digital ludites out there, an introduction to Second Life via the NYT post might not be a bad idea.
SL is an online community that replicates real world scenarios (countries, activities, happenings, etc) but with a specifically non political (as yet) twist - created by mostly 10 - 25 yr olds, this is a fascinating onlook as to were the digital collaboration may be heading...

At Sundance, a Second Life Sweatshop Is Art

One of the more exotic premieres at this year’s Sundance Film Festival is “Invisible Threads.” Stephanie Rothenberg, a new media performance artist, and her collaborator, Jeff Crouse, a digital artist and programmer, started Invisible Threads a year ago while at Eyebeam, an art and technology center in New York. Invisible Threads is intended as art, but they see it as a window into so-called telemetric manufacturing methods of the future.
